Mr. Whelan of Brewster moves to amend the bill, as amended, by inserting at the end thereof the following new section:-

SECTION XXX:  Section 9 of Chapter 258 is hereby amended in the first sentence by striking the words, “ and the commonwealth shall indemnify persons holding office under the constitution” after the words “public employees”, and by removing the words, "other than a person holding office under the constitution" in the last sentence of the first paragraph".
