Amendment #493 to H4879

Career Success in Sobriety

Mr. Golden of Lowell moves to amend the bill in section 2, in item 7002-8033, in line 127, by inserting after the word "advancement" the following:

Not less than $1million to be awarded to The Megan House Foundation in conjunction with The Bridge Club of Greater Lowell to be expended for the purpose of Career Success in Sobriety(CSIS) program. The CSIS program will provide access to high quality degree and certificate programs, on-the-job training, entrepreneurship training, and other pathways for people in recovery to establish and retain careers. The program will provide wrap around services for people in recovery that have experienced barriers in success due to their struggles with addiction. Some services include but not limited to: access to training, workshops, schooling, job coaching, mentors, group support, case management, job placement, internships, access to clinical licensed staff, and an assigned success coach. Funds may also be available for entrepreneurial support for participants that have successfully completed relevant training's, maintained sobriety and are looking to start their own business; ; and in said item by striking out the figures “10,000,000” and inserting in place thereof the figures “11,000,000”
