Amendment #166 to H5150

Wellfleet Hollow State Campground

Ms. Peake of Provincetown moves to amend the bill by inserting the following new section:

 

SECTION XX.  Chapter 10 of the General Laws is hereby amended by inserting after section 35LLL the following section:-

 

Section 35MMM. (a) There shall be a Wellfleet Hollow State Campground Trust Fund to be used, without further appropriation, for the long-term preservation and maintenance of Wellfleet hollow state campground in the town of Wellfleet.  Any balance remaining in the fund at the close of a fiscal year shall not revert to the General Fund but shall remain available for expenditure in subsequent fiscal years.  No expenditure made from the fund shall cause the fund to become deficient at any point during a fiscal year.

 

(b) The department of conservation and recreation shall impose a surcharge of $5 upon each fee charged and collected for admission to camping in Wellfleet hollow state campground for out-of-state residents.  The additional money collected from the surcharge shall be deposited into the Wellfleet Hollow State Campground Trust Fund.

 

(c) An annual report, which shall include projects undertaken, expenditures made and income received by the fund, shall be submitted to the clerks of the senate and house of representatives and to the house and senate committees on ways and means not later than December 31.
