Amendment #287 to H5150

Closing Insurance Gap for Children with Disabilities

Ms. Barber of Somerville moves to amend the bill by adding the following three sections:

SECTION XX. Amend Subdivision (P) of section 110 of chapter 175 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2016 Official Edition, by inserting after the word “age”, in line 463, the following words:-   or without regard to age, so long as the dependent, who is covered under the membership of his parent as a member of a family group, is mentally or physically incapable of earning their own living due to disability.

SECTION XX. Amend Section 4T of chapter 176G of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2016 Official Edition, by inserting after the word “age”, in line 6, the following words:-                                   or without regard to age, so long as the dependent, who is covered under the membership of his parent as a member of a family group, is mentally or physically incapable of earning their own living due to disability.

SECTION XX. Amend Section 1 of chapter 176J of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2016 Official Edition, by inserting after the word “age”, in line 86, the following words:-  or without regard to age, so long as the dependent, who is covered under the membership of his parent as a member of a family group is mentally or physically incapable of earning their own living due to disability.
