Fire Investigation Unit

Mr. Tucker of Salem moves to amend the bill in Section 2 by inserting in line item 8324-0000 after the words “commissioner of insurance” the following: -

“provided further, that notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, 100 per cent of the amount appropriated in 8100-1001 for all purposes related to fire and arson investigation shall be assessed upon insurance companies writing fire, homeowners multiple peril or commercial multiple peril policies on property situated in the commonwealth, and paid within 30 days after receiving notice of this assessment from the commissioner of insurance”
