Early Onset Alzheimers Disease Commission

Miss Garry of Dracut moves to amend the bill by inserting after section "46" the following section:

 

SECTION 47.  There shall be a special commission, known as the Early Onset Alzheimers Disease Commission, governed by section 2A of chapter 4 of the General Laws to study the prevalence of Early Onset Alzheimers Disease in the Commonwealth as well as the unique obstacles to treatment and assistance for this population and ways to address these obstacles. The commission shall consist of the following 11 members: the house and senate chairs of the Committee on Public Health; 3 persons to be appointed by the speaker of the house of representatives; 3 persons to be appointed by the president of the senate; 1 person to be appointed by the minority leader of the house of representatives; 1 person to be appointed by the minority leader of the senate; and the commissioner of the department of public health, or their designee, who shall serve as chair of the commission.

 

The commission shall submit a report of its review and its recommendations, if any, together with drafts of legislation necessary to carry those recommendations into effect by filing the same with the clerks of the house of representatives and the senate not later than December 31, 2021.
