Guaranteeing Medical Care to Babies Born Alive

Representatives Lombardo of Billerica and Sullivan of Abington move to amend the bill in Section 40 by striking out lines 738 to 742 and inserting in place thereof the following:- Section 12O: If an abortion is performed pursuant to section 12N, the facility where the abortion is performed shall maintain life-supporting equipment, as defined by the department of public health, the physician performing the abortion must use life saving measures to preserve the life and health of a live birth baby and the patient.
