Regulating evictions and rents at the UMass Extension Waltham Center

Messrs. Barrett and Eldridge move that the proposed new text be amended by adding the following section:

SECTION X.  The University of Massachusetts shall not close the administration building located at the University of Massachusetts Extension Waltham Center, situated on Beaver Street in the city of Waltham, and shall not evict without cause, or significantly increase the rents charged to, the tenants of said building, until such time as the University of Massachusetts enters into a final and binding agreement to convey the real estate on which the center is located.
