Equitable Parent Engagement

Ms. Rausch and Mr. Tarr move that the proposed new draft be amended in Section 4 by striking out, in line 56-57, the following words:-

“(iv) a description of how the district will effectuate and measure increased parent engagement.”

and inserting in place thereof the following words:-

"(iv) a description of opportunities offered in the district for parent engagement regarding student learning, development, and well-being, including but not limited to any engagement opportunities or outreach targeted to parents of low-income learners, English learners, students receiving special education services, or other student subgroups who may benefit from such additional opportunities or outreach; provided, however, that the description shall include any identifiable disparities in parent engagement among student subgroups; and provided further, that if such disparities exist, the district shall identify and effectuate specific measures designed to support opportunities for parent engagement in those subgroups."
