Promoting physical and emotional health

Ms. Rausch moves that the proposed new draft be amended be amended by striking the following words in Section 1 in lines 41-45:-

"(iii) the benefits of abstinence and delaying sexual activity, the prevention of sexually transmitted diseases, including, but not limited to, human immunodeficiency virus and acquired immune deficiency syndrome, and unintended pregnancy, including, but not limited to, the effective use of contraceptives and barrier methods;"

and inserting in place thereof:-

"(iii) the potential physical and emotional health outcomes of sexual activity and strategies for reducing risk, including, but not limited to: (1) physical and mental health services for individuals who are sexually active or considering becoming sexually active; (2) preventing sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and sexually transmitted diseases (STDs), including, but not limited to, human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) and acquired immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS); (3) the effective use of contraceptives and barrier methods; (4) pregnancy, including all available health care options; and (5) abstinence or delaying sexual activity;"
