Procedures for Interconnection

Ms. Comerford, Mr. Pacheco and Ms. Gobi move that the proposed new draft be amended in section 29, by striking out, in lines 392 to 395, the words “; and

(14) develop and adopt, as an appendix to the state building code, in consultation with the board of building regulations and standards, a municipal opt-in specialized stretch energy code that includes, but is not limited to, a definition of net-zero building.”

and inserting in place thereof the following words:-

“(14) develop and adopt, as an appendix to the state building code, in consultation with the board of building regulations and standards, a municipal opt-in specialized stretch energy code that includes, but is not limited to, a definition of net-zero building; and

(15)  develop and adopt, in consultation with the department of public utilities procedures for the interconnection of distributed generation facilities. These procedures shall require distribution companies to enable the interconnection of distributed generation facilities within 30 days of receipt of the application for facilities and systems with a Maximum Generation Capacity of less than 50 kW, within 180 days of receipt of the application for facilities and systems with a Maximum Generation Capacity of 50 kW or greater and less than 500 kW, and within 1 year of the execution of the interconnection service agreement for facilities and systems with a Maximum Generation Capacity of 500 kW or greater.”.
