Duration of stay in the emergency department

Messrs. Tarr and O'Connor move that the proposed new draft be amended by inserting in after section _ the following new section:-

"SECTION_. Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary the department of public health shall require acute-care hospitals licensed under 51G to annually report to the department the duration of stay in emergency departments or in a satellite emergency facility. The department shall submit said report to the clerks of the house and senate, and the joint committee on mental health, substance use and recovery no later than 30 days after submission by the acute-care hospitals"
