Amending the definition of "telehealth"
Messrs. Kennedy and O'Connor move that the proposed new draft be amended in SECTION 3, by striking lines 73 to 79, inclusive; and in SECTION 49, by striking lines 684 to 690, inclusive;
and in SECTION 52, by striking lines 904 to 910, inclusive; and in SECTION 53, by striking lines 945 to 951, inclusive; and in SECTION 54, by striking lines 979 to 985, inclusive; and in SECTION 55, by striking lines 1014 to 1020, inclusive; and in SECTION 56, by striking lines 1050 to 1056, inclusive; and in SECTION 66, by striking lines 1235 to 1241, inclusive; and inserting in place thereof, in each instance, the following: -
“For the purposes of this section, “telehealth” shall mean the use of synchronous interactive telecommunications technology to provide health care services, including, but not limited to, assessment, diagnosis, consultation, treatment and monitoring of a patient. Tele-health reimbursement shall not be required for e-mail messages or facsimile transmissions.”
