Providing for data collection regarding unholstering of a firearm

Ms. Chandler, Ms. Rausch, Mr. Eldridge and Ms. Jehlen move to amend the bill in section 52, by inserting after the words “searches a person” in line 952, the following words:- “or unholsters a firearm or brandishes a weapon while stopping a person”;

And by adding to the end of subsection (d)(1), the following words:-

“ (x) whether the stop resulted in the unholstering of a firearm, or brandishing of a weapon, and (xi) whether the stop resulted in the use of physical force by the officer, and if so, the weapon or body part used by the officer to assert such physical force, and the body part that force made contact with on the person who was stopped.”
