Clarifying Municipal Authority

Mr. Collins moves to amend the bill by adding the following new section:

SECTION XX:

Notwithstanding and special or general law to the contrary, any municipality that creates an oversight board with the same duties and powers as the division of police standards established pursuant to section 8, line 949, shall retain primary authority over investigations in that municipality's jurisdiction unless otherwise determined by the Massachusetts Peace Officer Standards and Training Commission
