Protecting First Responders

Messrs. Tran, deMacedo and Tarr moved that the proposed new text be amended by inserting after section 80 the following section:- "SECTION XX. Chapter 94C of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2016 Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting after section 32N the following new section:- Section 32O. (a) Any person who knowingly or intentionally exposes a law enforcement officer, firefighter, or EMS first responder to fentanyl or carfentanyl for the purposes of harming said law enforcement officer, firefighter, or EMS first responder shall be punished by a term of imprisonment in the state prison for not less than 15 years."
