Mr. Eldridge moved that the proposed new text be amended by striking out, in lines 9 through 14, the words: "and 8 persons appointed by the governor, 1 of whom shall be nominated by The Massachusetts Institute for a New Commonwealth, Inc., 1 of whom shall be nominated by Pioneer Institute, Inc., 1 of whom shall be nominated by Prisoners’ Legal Services, 1 of whom shall be nominated by the Massachusetts Bar Association, 1 of whom shall be nominated by the National Correctional Employees Union, Inc., 1 of whom shall be nominated by the Boston Bar Association"

and inserting in place thereof the following words:-- “and 10 persons appointed by the governor, 1 of whom shall be nominated by The Massachusetts Institute for a New Commonwealth, Inc., 1 of whom shall be nominated by Pioneer Institute, Inc., 1 of whom shall be nominated by Prisoners’ Legal Services, 1 of whom shall be nominated by the Massachusetts Bar Association, 1 of whom shall be nominated by the National Correctional Employees Union, Inc., 1 of whom shall be nominated by the Boston Bar Association, 1 of whom shall be nominated by the Massachusetts Budget and Policy Center, 1 of whom shall be nominated by the American Civil Liberties Union of Massachusetts.”
