Louis D. Brown Peace Institute

Messrs. Collins, O'Connor, Welch, Timilty, Velis and Cyr moved that the proposed new text be amended in section 2, in item 4513-1098, by striking the item in its entirety and inserting in place thereof the following:-

"4513-1098 For the provision of statewide support services for survivors of homicide victims, including outreach services, burial assistance, grief counseling and other support services; provided, that funds shall be expended as grants in the aggregate amount of not less than $350,000 to the Louis D. Brown Peace Institute Corporation, a community-based support organization dedicated to serving families and communities impacted by violence; and provided further, that the Louis D. Brown Peace Institute Corporation shall establish and administer a process to distribute a total of $150,000 to the Massachusetts survivors of homicide victims network organizations throughout the Commonwealth in the form of grants.............$350,000".
