Speaker Term Limits

Representatives Gouveia of Acton and Uyterhoeven of Somerville move to amend the order in line 73, by inserting after rule 7 the following:- “7X. No member shall hold, for more than 8 consecutive years, the office of Speaker of the House. For the purposes of this rule, the counting of consecutive years shall commence on January 6, 2021.”
