Amendment #25 to H3977

Players Association Parity

Ms. Tyler of Boston moves to amend the bill by inserting in line 111 the following:--

““Players association”, a professional sports association that represents registered professional athletes.”

and;

by striking lines 194-202, inclusive, and inserting in place therefore the following:--

(g) The commission shall consult with the relevant players association on all matters before the commission it determines may affect player safety, health and welfare.

(h) The commission shall have the authority to enforce this chapter and any rule or regulation of the commission and may request that the attorney general bring an action to enforce this chapter or any rule or regulation of the commission by civil action or petition for injunctive relief.

(i) The commission may hold hearings, administer oaths and issue subpoenas or subpoenas duces tecum in order to enforce this chapter and the rules and regulations of the commission.

(j) The commission may exercise any other powers necessary to effectuate this chapter202 and the rules and regulations of the commission.

and;

in lines 381, 384, 395, 418, 425, 427, 429, in each instance, by adding after the word “body” the words “or players association”.
