Providing a Category 3 Licensing Preference to Fantasy Sports Operators

Mr. Coppinger of Boston moves to amend the bill in section 6, in line 252, by inserting after the word “commission” the following words:

“In awarding a license, the commission will give a preference to any entity that has offered fantasy sports contests in the commonwealth pursuant to 940 C.M.R. 34.00 for at least 1 year at the time of enactment of this act, and has been permitted to offer sports wagering in at least 2 other jurisdictions in the United States by the relevant governing body in those jurisdictions.”
