Expanding successful Matched Savings Programs to include assets for COVID recovery
Ms. Elugardo of Boston moves to amend the bill in section 2, in item 7002-1502, by adding the following: “provided further that not less than $100,000 be expended to the Midas Collaborative to build upon its existing partnership with the Massachusetts Affordable Housing Alliance and other member organizations, expanding current offerings of matched savings accounts to low- and moderate-income households for homeownership to also support post-COVID recovery asset development and wealth building in the areas of rental fees, business development, higher education, and occupational mobility”.
