Amendment #1083 to H4000

Agricultural school assessments

Mr. Straus of Mattapoisett moves to amend the bill in section 2, in item 7010-1192, in line 2, by inserting after the word “projects” the following:-

“provided further, that notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, not more than $400,000 shall be expended as additional state assistance to cities and towns that are non-members of agricultural school districts and that have been disproportionately assessed for capital improvements to the agricultural school; provided further, that prior to any distribution of such funds, the commissioner of education shall publish guidelines governing eligibility for and distribution of the funds;”

and in said item by striking the figures “$100,000” and inserting in place thereof the figures “$500,000.”
