Amendment #1151 to H4000

The Theater Offensive

Representatives Malia of Boston, Livingstone of Boston and Santiago of Boston Ms. Malia of Boston moves to amend the bill by adding the following section:

“SECTION XX. The state treasurer may borrow on the credit of the commonwealth such sums of money as may be necessary, but not exceeding, in the aggregate, the sum of $250,000 for the purposes of The Theater Offensive, Inc. constructing a cultural facility for youth and LGBTQIA+ arts programs in the Fenway neighborhood of Boston. Such borrowing shall be issued for such terms, not exceeding 30 years, as the governor may recommend to the general court in accordance with Section 3 of Article LXII of the Amendments to the Constitution of the Commonwealth. All payments on account of principal on such borrowing shall be repaid from the General Fund; provided, however, such borrowing and any interest thereon shall be general obligations of the commonwealth.”
