Mr. Diggs of Barnstable moves to amend the bill in section 2, in item 7004-0104 , in line 22, by inserting after the word “care” the following:- “provided further, that not less than $300,000 shall be made available to the Housing Assistance Corporation on Cape Cod for a program to assist the development of affordable accessory dwelling units. Said program, the Cape Cod Accessory Dwelling Development Program (CCADDP) shall provide technical and financial assistance to property owners using local Accessory Dwelling Unit by-laws to create more affordable housing for eligible tenants. Said program shall provide resources for design, permitting and construction costs for eligible participants. And provided further said CCADDP shall work with the 15 towns on the Cape and the Cape Cod Commission for the purpose of amending local bylaws to make auxiliary dwelling units conform to town zoning and bylaws. The Housing Assistance Corporation shall file a report with House and Senate Ways and Means, the Joint Committee on Housing and the Executive Office of Housing and Economic Development on the progress made by CCADDP on or before June 30, 2022”.,and in said item by striking out the figure “$3,890,000” and inserting in place thereof the figure “$4,190,000.”
