Amendment #519 to H4000

Cost of Living Increase for Employees of the Massachusetts State Legislature

Representatives Sullivan of Abington and Kearney of Scituate moves to amend the bill by adding the following section: "SECTION XX: (1) For the purposes of this section, the following terms will have the following meaning: “Legislative Employees,” shall mean employees working in the Massachusetts State House of Representatives and the Massachusetts State Senate as legislative personnel including but not limited to legislative aides, legislative directors, staff directors, chief of staffs, budget directors, committee staff, district aides, communication directors, officers and employees. 

(2)Legislative employees shall be entitled to a 6% Cost of Living increase effective December 1, 2020. Starting on December 1, 2022, Legislative employees shall be entitled to a 6% bi-annual cost of living increase.

(3) This Act shall take effect immediately."
