Postpartum Care Center
Mr. O'Day of West Boylston moves to amend the bill in section 2, by inserting after item 0000-0000, the following item: XXXX-XXXX: For the Mother Is Supreme Postpartum Care Center to begin establishing a postpartum care center in the Roxbury, Mattapan, or Dorchester neighborhoods and a service delivery app for the purposes of helping families establish a postpartum support plan during the 3rd trimester or before the family leaves the birth center or hospital which will determine the family’s level of supports, identify, educate and prevent postpartum co-morbidities, provide surround care for the entire family by connecting them to resources and services, decrease the postpartum depression rate by connecting families to mental health resources during the 3rd trimester or before they leave the birth center/hospital, increase breastfeeding rates by increasing education of and access to Lactation Counselors and Consultants and Peer Support persons, and to decrease the SIDS rate by teaching safe sleep practices...$190,540.
