Amendment #740 to H4000

Public Safety Staffing Grants

Mr. Silvia of Fall River moves to amend the bill, in section 2, in item 1599-0026, by striking out the figure “3,600,000” and inserting “8,350,000”; 

And further, by inserting at the end thereof the following words:-

“provided further, that not more than $4,750,000 shall be transferred to the executive office of public safety and security for a competitive grant program for public safety and emergency staffing to be administered by that executive office; provided further, that the grants shall be awarded to communities that have populations of at least 60,000 and demonstrate that their police departments had an operating budget per capita of less than $200 in fiscal year 2021”
