Brockton Intergenerational Wellness Community Center at former Massasoit Community College Conference Center

Ms. DuBois of Brockton moves to amend the bill by inserting after section 50 the following section:- SECTION 50A. (a) Notwithstanding sections 32 to 37, inclusive, of chapter 7C of the General Laws or any other general or special law to the contrary, the commissioner of capital asset management and maintenance shall, upon agreement with the City of Brockton, convey a certain parcel of state-owned land, with the building thereon known as the Conference Center at Massasoit Community College, located in the city of Brockton, to the City of Brockton for the purpose of operating Brockton's intergenerational wellness community center and as a COVID-19 pandemic community support and recovery site.  The parcel is located at 770 Crescent Street and is identified as parcel 77 on the city tax assessor’s map 143.  The exact boundaries of the parcel shall be determined by the commissioner of capital asset management and maintenance after completion of a survey.

(b) The consideration for the conveyance authorized in subsection (a) shall be a nominal fee or $1.00.

(c) Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, the City of Brockton shall be responsible for all costs and expenses including, but not limited to, costs associated with any engineering, surveys, appraisals and deed preparation related to the conveyance authorized in this section as such costs may be determined by the commissioner of capital asset management and maintenance.
