Maintain extended housing counseling capacity during COVID

Mr. Cahill of Lynn moves to amend the bill in item 7004-3036, by inserting after the words “provided, that funds shall be expended as grants to 9 regional housing consumer education centers operated by the regional nonprofit housing authorities;” the following:-

“provided, that during the COVID-19 state of emergency and for such time thereafter as the department may deem necessary, funds may also be expended as grants to one or more additional administering agencies to provide information and referral services relating to emergency rental assistance and other services under the department’s COVID-19 eviction diversion initiative.”
