Amendment #1 to H4257

Chapter 57 Definitions

Mr. Moran of Boston moves to amend the bill by inserting after section 1 the following 2 sections:-

“SECTION 1A. Said chapter 57 is hereby further amended by striking out section 1A, inserted by section 1 of chapter 83 of the acts of 2021, and inserting in place thereof the following section:-

Section 1A. As used in this chapter, the following words shall, unless the context clearly requires otherwise, have the following meanings:

“Block” or “Census Block”, 2020 census block geography designated by the United States Census Bureau for which population data is reported under P.L. 94-171 2020 Census National Redistricting Data Summary File.

“VTD”, 2020 census voting district geography designated by the United States Census Bureau for which population data is reported under P.L. 94-171 2020 Census National Redistricting Data Summary File.

SECTION 1B. Section 3 of said chapter 57, inserted by section 1 of chapter 82 of the acts of 2021, is hereby amended by striking out the first paragraph.”.
