Amendment #20 to H4340

Authorizing Remote Town Meeting

Mr. Gordon of Bedford moves to amend the bill by adding the following sections:-

SECTION XX. Subsection (a) of section 7 of chapter 92 of the acts of 2020, as amended by section 8 of chapter 20 of the acts of 2021, is hereby further amended by striking out the words “December 15, 2021” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- "December 15, 2022".

SECTION XX. Subsection (a) of section 8 of chapter 92 of the acts of 2020, as amended by section 9 of chapter 20 of the acts of 2021, is hereby further amended by striking out the words “December 15, 2021” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- "December 15, 2022"

SECTION XX. Chapter 92 of the acts of 2020 is hereby amended by striking out section 17 and inserting in place thereof the following section:-

SECTION 17. If this act does not take effect at least 15 days prior to the date of a scheduled representative town meeting to be held during a period ending on December 31, 2022 the actions of a town moderator, select board and town meeting that are substantially consistent with the requirements hereof shall be ratified, validated and confirmed in all respects as if this act had been in place prior thereto.
