Amendment #22 to H4340
Skilled nursing facility patient death reporting to boards of health
Ms. Kerans of Danvers moves to amend the bill by adding the following section:
"SECTION XXXX
Part I Title XVI of Ch 111 is hereby amended by adding, after Section 112, the following:
Every skilled nursing facility shall be required to report within 24 hours to the local Board of Health, Health Director, Public Health Director or Public Health Nurse in the city or town it is located any time there is a probable or confirmed death of any and all strains of COVID-19 or any other highly contagious disease as defined by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Reports shall not include the name of any patient.
The executive Director or on-duty Nurse of a skilled nursing facility shall be required to notify a patient’s family or guardian of record when they have a probable or confirmed case of any and all strains of COVID-19 or any other highly contagious disease as defined by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
This section shall not supplant any other reporting requirements in accordance with State or Federal laws."
