The Elimination of Election Officers at the Ballot Box

Representatives Ultrino of Malden and Donato of Medford move to amend the bill, as amended, move to amend the bill by adding the following section:

SECTION X. Said section 83 of said chapter 54 is hereby further amended by inserting after the word “box.”, in line 9, the following sentence:-

A city of town clerk may opt to eliminate the use of an election officer at the ballot box. A city or town clerk may appoint an officer to be in charge of the ballot box, if needed.
