Movie Theater Assistance Grant Program

Mr. Chan of Quincy moves to amend the bill in section 2 by inserting after item 7002-0025 the following item: "7002-0027 For operational support grants to movie theaters located within the Commonwealth; provided, however, that for distribution of a grant of any size, such theater shall have had at least $15,000 in box office ticket sales in 2019 and experienced a decline in box office sales of at least 40 per cent, and has no current tax liens on record with the department of revenue at the time of application; provided, further that preference shall be given to applicants with four screens or fewer; provided, further that eligible theaters shall receive $15,000 per screen for each of the first two screens at a same location and $10,000 per screen per each additional screen at a same location...............................................................$7,060,000"
