Improvements to the RAFT Homelessness Prevention Program

Ms. Decker of Cambridge moves to amend the bill in section 2, in item 7004-9316, in line 6, by striking out the following: "50 per cent" and inserting in place thereof the following: "60 per cent”; and in said item by inserting at the end the following: “provided further, that for the purposes of this program, to receive cash benefits or other services, it is not necessary for a household to be subject to the summary process under chapter 239 or have received a shut-off notice from a utility company; provided further, the department shall authorize forward rent payments and stipends for no fewer than four months of rent to otherwise eligible applicants”.
