CHP Generation Incentives

Ms. Whipps of Athol moves to amend Section 11F 1/2 of Chapter 25A of the General Laws, as amended by Section 169 of the Acts of 2008, is hereby amended by inserting at the end thereof the following new subsection: -

Section XX:  A combined heat and power generation unit operational before December 31, 2022 that is fueled by natural gas shall receive the full value of alternative energy portfolio standard incentives so long as the unit can demonstrate such a unit will emit fewer carbon emissions per megawatt hour than a marginal generation unit that would provide an equivalent amount of electricity to replace it.
