Amendment #436 to H4700

METCO Feasibility Study

Mr. Linsky of Natick moves to amend the bill in section 2 by inserting after item 7010-0012, the following item:

XXXX-XXXX  For a study to determine the feasibility of expanding the METCO program to suburban school districts which do not currently have the METCO program in the greater Boston area;  provided that the feasibility study shall include but not be limited to: i) Identification of potential districts where feasibility shall be studied; ii) an assessment in identified districts on available seats in each school in the district; public and administration sentiments; transportation potential; iii) presentations to and interviews with school committees and school leadership, iv) equity audits in each perspective district; and v) conversations with superintendents and provided further that no later than June 30th, 2023 a final report shall be published….. $500,000
