Amendment #496 to H4700

Health Care and Behavioral Health Workforce Public Awareness Campaign

Miss Gregoire of Marlborough moves to amend the bill in section 2, in item 4000-0100 by striking out the figure “$1,000,000” and replacing it with the following:- “$2,000,000”

 

and further moves to amend the bill in Section 51, line 690, by adding after the words “in consultation with the” the following:- “secretary of labor and workforce development, the department of elementary and secondary education, and the”,

 

and further moves to amend the bill in Section 51, line 695, by adding after the words “The campaign shall” the following:- “be linguistically and technologically-accessible to all audiences and”,

 

and further moves to amend the bill in Section 51, line 700, by adding after the words “to the public, including” the following:- “regional workforce boards, high schools, and”,

 

and further moves to amend the bill in Section 51 by adding the following new subsection:-

 

(c) The secretary, in consultation with the center for health information and analysis, shall investigate and analyze trends relative to the health care workforce in the commonwealth, including how it is changing over time, the supply of and demand for workers, demographic characteristics of the workforce including race, ethnicity, language, and age, geographic variations, job satisfaction, recruitment, retention, and turnover, and other issues affecting the commonwealth’s healthcare workforce and the resulting impact such workforce issues have on health care access, equity, and disparities. The secretary shall annually submit a report to the general court, by filing the same with the clerk of the house of representatives, the clerk of the senate, the joint committee on labor and workforce development, the joint committee on health care financing, and the joint committee on public health detailing the results of its investigation and analysis. Except as specifically provided otherwise by the secretary, health care workforce data collected under this section shall not be a public record under clause twenty-sixth of section 7 of chapter 4 or under chapter 66.
