Amendment #603 to H4700

Humane Society Law Enforcement

Mr. Whelan of Brewster moves to amend the bill by adding the following four sections:-

SECTION XX.

Section 1 of Chapter 6E is hereby amended by striking in line XX after the word “functions” the word :- “or”

SECTION XX.

Section 1 of Chapter 6E is hereby amended by inserting in line XX after the word “department” the words :- ; or (iv) a humane society police department as defined in section 57 of chapter 22C

SECTION XX.

Section 1 of Chapter 6E is hereby further amended by adding after the word “to” in line XX the words;- section 57,

SECTION XX.

Section 57 of Chapter 22C is hereby amended by adding, after the word “require” in line XX the words:- ; provided, however, that such officers shall remain subject to certification requirements of the Massachusetts peace officer standards and training commission established in chapter 6E
