Salem Family Resource and Welcome Center

Mr. Tucker of Salem moves to amend the bill in Section 2, in line item 3000-6075 by inserting after the word “services” the following: "Provided further that no less than $300,000 shall be expended for the Salem Family Resource and Welcome Center. The Center will be housed in a historic building in Salem in need of renovations and repairs. The overall purpose of the Center will be to be a resource HUB for parents and residents to access services. Through this addition to the city, the center will be able to engage parents in the school enrollment process, increase access to mental health services, create evening workshops, groups, youth and adult workforce development training programs, host parenting classes, and provide ESL classes to community members. The Family Resource and Welcome Center will be a vital asset to Salem community and overall family success."
