Amendment #943 to H4700

National Guard Tuition and Fees

Mr. McMurtry of Dedham moves to amend the bill, in section 2, by striking out the language in item 8700-1150 and inserting in place thereof the following language:-

"For reimbursement of the costs of the Massachusetts national guard tuition and fee waivers under section 19 of chapter 15A of the General Laws; provided, that no funds shall be distributed from this item prior to certification by the state and community colleges and the University of Massachusetts of the actual amount of tuition and fees waived for national guard members attending public institutions of higher education under said section 19 of said chapter 15A that would otherwise have been retained by the campuses, according to procedures and regulations adopted by the military division of the Massachusetts national guard; and provided further, that the funds appropriated under this item shall not revert but shall be made available for these purposes through June 30, 2024…………..........................$10,432,009
