Amendment #235 to H4790

Charlestown Mount Vernon Street Plaza

Mr. Ryan of Boston moves to amend the bill by adding the following section: "SECTION  XXXX.

Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, the Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) shall transfer the care and control of a certain parcel of park land, known as Mount Vernon Street Plaza; otherwise known as Charlestown Peace Park, located at, Mt. Vernon Street and Lowney Way (Parcel ID: 0202822000) in the Charlestown section of the City of Boston, containing .28 acres, more or less, to the Charlestown Coalition and/or an affiliated non-profit organization. Upon transfer of the parcel to the Charlestown Coalition and/or an affiliated non-profit organization, the Charlestown Coalition and/or an affiliated non-profit organization may convey the parcel on such terms and conditions as the restoration, community stewardship, oversight and activity in the park.

SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect upon its passage.
