Amendment #10 to H4879
Establishing Excused Absences for Mental and Behavioral Health
Ms. Doherty of Taunton moves to amend the bill by inserting after Section 36 the following Section:
“SECTION 37A. The first sentence of section 1 of chapter 76 of the General Laws, as appearing in section 2 of chapter 341 of the acts of 2020, is hereby amended by inserting after the word "thereto” the following words:- ; provided further, that absences shall also be permitted for mental and behavioral health concerns. Further, each school district shall annually report the number of students taking excused absences for mental and behavioral health concerns and the number of total days taken annually to the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.”
