Public safety mental wellness

Mr. Whelan of Brewster moves to amend the bill moves to amend the bill by inserting after Section 68 the following Section :-

"SECTION XX:

Section 20O of Chapter 233 of the General Laws is hereby amended by adding at the end thereof, a new paragraph:

"(f) Emergency service providers, to include state and county correctional officers, who have responded to a critical incident, shall be offered by their employers a compensated day of work to seek mental wellness services through a Certified emergency service provider or a licensed mental health clinician.  Such compensated day shall occur within 3-5 days of said critical incident, or as soon as practicable thereafter.""
