Medical Necessity Determined by Treating Provider in Consultation with the Patient

Ms. Decker of Cambridge moves to amend the bill in section 22 by inserting after the words “hours of admission.” the following sentence:-

Medical necessity shall be determined by the treating clinician in consultation with the patient and noted in the patient’s medical record.

And further moves to amend the bill in section 31 by inserting after the words “hours of admission.” .” the following sentence:-

Medical necessity shall be determined by the treating clinician in consultation with the patient and noted in the patient’s medical record.

And further moves to amend the bill in section 40 by inserting after the words “hours of admission.” the following sentence:-

Medical necessity shall be determined by the treating clinician in consultation with the patient and noted in the patient’s medical record.

And further moves to amend the bill in section 42 by inserting after the words “hours of admission.” the following sentence:-

Medical necessity shall be determined by the treating clinician in consultation with the patient and noted in the patient’s medical record.

And further moves to amend the bill in section 43 by inserting after the words “hours of admission.” the following sentence:-

Medical necessity shall be determined by the treating clinician in consultation with the patient and noted in the patient’s medical record.

And further moves to amend the bill in section 45 by inserting after the words “hours of admission.” the following sentence:-

Medical necessity shall be determined by the treating clinician in consultation with the patient and noted in the patient’s medical record.
