Mount Vernon Street Plaza - Charlestown

Mr. Ryan of Boston moves to amend the bill by adding the following section: "SECTION XXXX. Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, the Massachusetts Department of Transportation shall transfer the care, custody and control of a certain parcel of park land, known as Mount Vernon Street Plaza, otherwise known as Charlestown Peace Park, located at Mt. Vernon Street and Lowney Way and as identified as parcel 0202822000 by the city of Boston assessor’s office in the Charlestown section of the city of Boston, containing .28 acres, more or less, to the Charlestown Coalition or an affiliated non-profit organization to be used for park and open space purposes with the grant of a deed restriction placing the land under the protection of Article 97 of the Amendments to the Constitution of the commonwealth in perpetuity.”
