Price change transparency

Mr. Brady moves that the proposed new draft be amended by inserting after section 36 the following section:-

“Section 36A

Section 16 of said chapter 12C, as so appearing is hereby amended by inserting after subsection (a) the following new subsection as follows:

(aa) The center shall survey all changes in essential pharmaceutical prices on a monthly basis by manufacturers, wholesalers and retailers in Massachusetts noting changes in prices at each level and shall file the results of said survey monthly with the Regulation Division of the Secretary of the Commonwealth.

The center shall also survey quarterly comparable prices for the same essential drugs sold in Canada and shall also file said findings with the Regulations Division of the Secretary of the Commonwealth.”
