Category 2 Licenses to Support Farms, Preserve Open Space, and Protect Existing Jobs

Messrs. Feeney, Pacheco, Cronin, Moore, Velis and O'Connor, Ms. Gobi, Mr. Brady, Ms. Moran, Mr. Crighton, Ms. DiZoglio and Mr. Timilty move that the proposed new text be amended in section 8, by striking out, in lines 294 to 297, inclusive, clauses (iv) and (v) and inserting in place thereof the following clauses:-

"(iv) community support for the proposed in person sports wagering facility demonstrated in a manner established by the commission; (v) creation of a live thoroughbred race track in accordance with chapter 128A to preserve open space and family farms across the Commonwealth, and promotes economic development in local communities; (vi) One of the following: (A) a person or entity licensed by the commission in accordance with said chapter 128A to conduct a live horse racing meeting, (B) a running horse racing licensee that conducted simulcast wagering as of December 31, 2020 as authorized by law, or (C) a greyhound meeting licensee that conducted simulcast wagering as of December 31, 2020 as authorized by law; and (vii) any other factor the commission determines is necessary to maximize the benefits to the commonwealth or to promote responsible sports wagering.”
