Shelter Workforce Development Initiative

Messrs. Keenan and Timilty, Ms. Jehlen, Mr. Brady, Ms. Moran, Ms. Rausch, Mr. Lesser, Ms. Lovely and Messrs. Gomez and O'Connor moved that the proposed new text be amended in section 2, by inserting after item 7004-0108 the following item:

“xxxx-xxxx For the shelter workforce development initiative, to provide pathways to careers in fields related to housing and homelessness; provided, that funds shall be expended to address barriers to obtaining and sustaining shelter employment including, but not limited to, transportation, loan repayment, tuition or certification fee reimbursement, and child care; and provided further, that the secretary of the executive office of housing and economic development shall submit a report to the house and senate chairs of the joint committee on housing and the chairs of the house and senate committees on ways and means not later than March 1, 2023, detailing the expenditures and hiring outcomes of the program........................................... $10,000,000”.
